Neo Jenny 네오 제니는 재능 있는 댄서, 안무가, 교육자로서 싱가포르 예술계에 크게 기여했다. 그녀는 현재 싱가포르 중국무용극단(SCDT)의 예술 감독으로서 그곳에서 중국 무용의 아름다움과 풍부함을 보여주는 독창적인 작품을 만들고 있다. 또한 라살레 예술대학과 난양미술아카데미의 외래강사이자 NUS 중국무용 교사로서 의욕 있는 댄서들에게 자신의 지식과 전문분야를 가르치고 있다. 제니는 중국 고전, 중국 민속무용, 발레, 재즈, 힙합 등 다양한 배경과 함께 자신의 작품에 고유한 관점과 스타일을 적용한다. 그녀의 예술적 비전과 예술에 대한 헌신을 통해 제니는 싱가포르와 그 밖의 댄스 커뮤니티에 영감을 주면서 내용을 풍부하게 만든다. Neo Jenny is a talented dancer, choreographer, and educator who has significantly contributed to Singapore’s arts scene. She is currently the Artistic Director of the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre (SCDT), where she creates original works that showcase the beauty and richness of Chinese dance. Jenny is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the La Salle College of the Arts and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, as well as a Tutor of NUS Chinese Dance. With her diverse background in Chinese classical, Chinese ethnic folk dance, ballet, jazz, and hip-hop, Jenny brings a unique perspective and style to her works. Through her artistic vision and dedication to the arts, Jenny inspires and enriches the dance community in Singapore and beyond. |

2014년에 설립된 SCDT는 싱가포르의 중국 무용의 정체성을 홍보하고 발전시키며, 중국 무용의 아름다움과
다양성을 더 많은 관객에게 소개하는 사명을 가지고 있다. SCDT는 중국, 일본, 한국, 말레이시아 및 미국과 같은 국가를
포함하여 지역적으로 국제적으로 광범위하게 공연해왔다. 공연 외에도 SCDT는 차세대 댄서와 댄스 애호가를 육성하고
개발하기 위한 교육 프로그램과 워크숍도 제공한다. Incorporated in 2014, Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre(SCDT) has a mission to promote and develop a Singapore’s identity of Chinese dance and to showcase the beauty and diversity of Chinese dance to a wider audience. The SCDT has performed extensively both locally and internationally, including in countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and the United States. In addition to performances, the SCDT also offers educational programs and workshops to nurture and develop the next generation of dancers and dance enthusiasts. |
| 작품내용 | 1. Veiled 모든 개인은 창작에서 자신의 목소리를 가지고 있다. 의도가 아무리 작더라도, 항상 고유한 가치를 가지고 있다. Every individual has its own voice in creation. However small the intention, it always has its own intrinsic value. 2. Phases within our Control 우리의 감각은 내적으로 뿌리를 내리고 있으며, 반응을 통한 일시적인 것이다. 우리의 마음은 우리 몸에서 예측 가능한 패턴을 설계한다. 그것은 우리의 감각을 불러일으키고, 우리의 생각을 스스로 통제할 수 있는 움직임의 형태로 조작한다. Our senses are rooted internally, transient through responses. Our mind maps out predictable patterns in our body. It engenders our senses, manipulate our thoughts into movements’ phases within our control. |
